LAS VEGAS, Nev. (April 1, 2026) – Silver State Equality, Nevada’s statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights advocacy nonprofit, today announced its endorsement of Nicole Cannizzaro for Nevada attorney general, citing her extensive legal experience, stellar record as Nevada State Senate Majority Leader and unwavering support for a world that is healthy, just and fully equal for all LGBTQ+ people.
Widely recognized as one of Nevada’s foremost elected advocates for civil rights, Cannizzaro is a lifelong Nevadan with extensive experience as a prosecutor fighting to keep Nevada communities safe – taking on such cases as racketeering and fraud, child abuse and sexual assault. As the first woman to serve as Senate Majority Leader she has permanently protected abortion rights and IVF in Nevada, championed pro-equality legislation, supported public education and taken on Big Pharma.
Cannizzaro responded to the endorsement with this statement:
